Specifications:
- Capacity: 2 spools (Comgrow & Creality), dozens of spools (the homemade one)
We have 3 options for filament drying:
- A Comgrow 2 spool dryer (usually between the Prusa Research i3 mk2 and the Creality Ender 3
- A Creality 2 spool dryer (on a shelf above the SLA printers)
- An insane homegrown one made with a filing cabinet, space heater, and temperature controller.
The Comgrow & Creality ones are suggested for use. We should probably retire the insane homegrown one, as it's all kinds of hazardous.
General use (instructions for the Comgrow. The Creality is probably similar):
- Place 1-2 spools into the dryer, bring the lid down, but prop it up on the latches (this is important for the humidity to escape)
- Turn on the dryer with the power button
- Press the “M” button. Set the desired temperature and time settings.
- Wait. The dryer will automatically turn off sometime after its cycle completes.
